lip gloss

One of the many things I have learned from my momma is to never leave the house without lip gloss.  She used to drive me crazy about it and now I drive my friends crazy about it.  I can't stand the feel of not having lip gloss on my lips and then I feel so washed out when I don't have a little bit of color on my lips.  I even have to put Vaseline on my lips before I go to bed to keep my lips moist.  Here are a few of my favorite lip gloss....

Tis the Season

My family and I have enjoyed decorating the house for Christmas.  The decorations along with this cold weather has helped get us into the spirit.  This is my favorite time of the year.  After Christmas is over I'm ready for spring and summer.  I've always wished for a white Christmas but we haven't had one in a long time.  Maybe this year will be different!

Merry Christmas!!!

kitty cat

TAYLOR SWIFT (she looked ah-maz-ing this night)

There are certain breeds of people who remind me of cats.  They have very strong facial features and "cat eyes."  They are very interesting and beautiful.  I am very envious because I would die to have strong cheek bones.  We all want what we can't have right?  The 'cat' people that I know also have kind of a sassy attitude....hmm what a coincidence! :)  Am I the only one the notices the resemblance?

My best friend, Sarah Jean, is in the middle and she is def. part cat.

puppychow

Every once and a while I get these cravings for a little treat called Puppy Chow.  If you love chocolate and peanut butter then you will fall in love if you haven't already fallen in love with this little bit of heaven.  It would be perfect for a snack to take to a holiday party this season.

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
9 cups Crispix cereal (any flavor but I always stick to the original)
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar

1. Combine peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Stir well.
3. Place the 9 cups of Crispix cereal in a very large bowl.
4. Pour the peanut butter-chocolate mixture over the cereal and toss evenly, making sure all the cereal gets a good covering.
5. Coat with powdered sugar, sprinkling evenly over the cereal and tossing as you sprinkle to cover each piece well.

yummy yummy for my tummy

MARCHESA

Celebs who wear Marchesa almost always get on the Best Dressed List.  I love love love Machesa fashion and here is why.....

As some of you know, this is one of my all time favorites!

I love this dress too and I'm so happy Sandra Bullock wore it!

Now, if only I could have the privilege of wearing a Marchesa gown in my future....

Potato Soup

One of my favorite meals is my mom's potato soup.  I've tried potato soups from several different places but so far I haven't found one that compares to my hers.  I'm going to share the recipe so you should feel special! :)

3 1/2 c. chicken broth
8 celery ribs, sliced (she omits this part for me)
4 carrots, sliced
2 med. potatoes, peeled & cubed
1 lg. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 c. frozen corn, thawed
1/4 c. butter
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Bring first 6 ingredients to a boil in a Dutch oven.  cover, reduce heat, simmer 15 to 20 min. or until vegetables are tender.  Remove from heat and stir in corn.  Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat.  Add flour, whisking until smooth.  Cook 1 min., whisking constantly/  Gradually whisk in milk.  Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until mixture is thickened and bubbly.  Add cheese, stirring until blended.  Stire cheese mixture gradually into vegetable mixture.  Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until throughly heated.
Enjoy!

little white church

When driving down country roads I sometimes see the prettiest older churches while most of the time they are white.  Like most girls, I dream about my future wedding.  I dream about my beautiful white dress, my bridesmaids, my flowers, and of course the church.  I'm definitely not ready to get married anytime soon but I can still dream about my big day.  When I saw this church on the way to Arrington Vineyards I fell in love and could see myself getting married there.  I can picture the inside being filled with beautiful arch ways and old, dark, and thick wood floors.  I love vintage and I love antiques.  I'm sure I'll come across another beautiful and old white church in the future and fall in love with it also.  I have just always loved beautiful and historical churches.
